May I just say that author, C.M. Seabrook has an unstoppable, magical ability to write a romance with addicting, sexy, brooding alpha heroes, beautiful and sassy heroines and all the right “feels” that leaves me panting, swooning and thanking the lord for all things romantic and ALWAYS wanting and waiting for her next release.

Second Shot is absolutely no exception. I adored Kane and Brynne. The chemistry between these two was combustible. Their story was about letting go of the past, however difficult that may be, letting go of misplaced guilt, accepting that people are not always what they initially appear to be, taking chances and moving forward to share in a love that was always meant to be. Throw in a baby and I’m lost to the dream of love, life and family.

I love the banter back and forth between this couple. Kane’s alpha ways and take-charge attitude when secrets are revealed had my heart doing tons of pitter pattering not to mention a little heavy breathing…

Brynne’s stubborn ways were sometimes frustrating but understandable given the circumstances. She had me laughing out loud more than once. My most favorite, funniest part was when the “news” was broken spontaneously to Brynne’s father and Kane’s reaction to that. Priceless!!!

I fell in love with the previous book, Second Draft and I thought that would be hard to beat. The author gives us a run for our money and delivers a fantastic read that I WILL read again and again.

Another well written book by C.M. Seabrook! Kane and Byrne's story is heartfelt and emotional. I absolutely fell in love with all the characters in this book. Kane is a hockey player that has been attracted to Brynne from the first time he saw her. But being on her father's team and his best friends with her brother, Sam, he keeps it hidden. Kane doesn't know that Brynne is also hiding the same feelings. Over the years she starts to blame Kane for Sam's problems and then his death. After Sam's death, Brynne disappears for a year with out a goodbye. She just turns up on Kane's doorstep and the passion between the two wins out, then she is gone again. Another year goes by and Kane finds her at her brother's grave with a baby, his son. His knows it's time for her to stop running and act on the feelings they have for each other and to get her trust.

Another great read by Ms. Seabrook. Kane is such a great character - steadfast in his loyalty to his friends and his love for Brynne.

Unfortunately, family struggles and tragedy have caused Brynne to bury her feelings under anger, grief, and bitterness.

Sam, Brynne's brother and Kane's best friend, committed suicide. The tragedy has had far reaching consequences, including Brynne blaming both Kane and her father for Sam's decision. On the one year anniversary of Sam's death, Brynne goes to confront Kane in her grief, and they end up consumed in passion, grief, and pain. A year later, while visiting Sam's grave, Kane runs into Brynne. While there, he finds that Brynne has kept quite the secret in the past year - she has had Kane's son. Kane is determined to be in his son's life, and to finally have Brynne in his life too. Will he be able to get her to see truth and love before it is too late?

Brynne was very frustrating at times - willing to believe the worst of Kane at every turn and blinded by grief and rage. While I could understand the turmoil of her feelings, it doesn't change that I wanted her to wake up.

I have really enjoyed every book I have read by Ms. Seabrook. Hoping to see Blake and Kiley's story. Enjoy!
OMG...this book! Brynne lost her brother to a drug overdose and blames his best friend, Kane. On the 1yr anniversary of his death, Brynne goes to Kane’s condo to vent her anger...she believes that Kane got her brother hooked on drugs. They have angry $ex and a year later Kane discovers that he’s a father. Did I mention that Brynne’s estranged from her dad, who happens to be the coach of Kane’s hockey team? Kane tries really hard to do the right thing to be there for Brynne & their son but, at first, she’s hesitant...she still blames him for her brother’s death. Of course her anger is fueled further by her ‘friend’ Felix. Over time we discover the truth behind Brynne’s brother’s death and learn that Kane was hiding it from her. Brynne is very frustrating because she refuses to give Kane a chance and let go of her anger. When Felix sends her a tabloid article of Kane giving $$ to a strange girl, she assumes the worst and blasts Kane...that was finally the last straw for Kane. Will Brynne find out too late that Kane’s a good guy? How will her dad react to Kane & Brynne and his gson? Where does Kane’s sister and Brynne’s friend fit into all this? There’s lots of drama, angst and forgiveness. Greeeaaat book!!! Now I want Blake’s story!!!
