Desirae Grove always does such and amazing job. If you have never read any of her books before then you are in for a real treat. This is actually the second dragon shifter book I have ever read. Loved the approach she took.Dori who had a Romanian background lived more of what people that was a new age life. She was often mistaken as wiccan since she had a herb garden and way she decorated her apartment. She was one who lived a natural life style and was a vegan.
Dori had this huge crush on Jax. She truly knew very little about him. Though Dori was one that could read people and get a feel of them. She thought Jax as an old soul and god did he look like a freaking greek god. Dori would of never dreamed that Jax was a dragon shifter.
Jax was handsome and knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dori was his mate. He had wanted her for so long but his brother had held him off due to Dori not being ready. See she had to be willing to except who he was or he would be destine to spend his life unmated. He only had one shot for you only get one mate.
I loved the little sayings that Dori would use which would catch Jax and his brother off guard. It would be saying that was reference to what a dragon would do. Sorry want to know what they were then you will have to read the book.
Is Dori to the place in her life that she can expect what Jax really is or will Jax spend the rest of his life mourning for what could have been? What will it take to convince her if she does except? If you love shifter books then you will love the story of Dori and Jax. It is truly a book worth reading. I am so happy I was given the opportunity to review this book.

Well written and a great story. If you like fantasy, shifter books this one will not disappoint. Dori is not Wiccan, her Grandma was from the old country and brought her up with the old believes. But Grandma is gone and leaves her legacy to Dori. Doris' friend Aiden moves in next door and she meets his brother Jax, she has met Jax but not this Jax,. But the secrets are getting deep and Dori just doesn't know what to think. Jax and Dori know they are meant to be together, will others keep them apart.

I like this book, (first in this series) , and her writing style improved dramatically from the first time I read about the bear shifters. But, I just wish there had been something , well more.
However , there were little errors in editing, and let's face it , that can make or break a book. The story was sweet and sexy. I would recommend this author and I will be reading Aiden's story next. Thanks for the reads!
The story of Dori and Jax is a sweet sexy tail of fated mates. As a dragon shifter Jax only has one chance at a mate. He has spent his entire life searching for his mate. Dori is human and Jax's brother Aiden's friend from college. The story takes place shortly after Dori has graduated form college. Jax had met her several years earlier. At the time he thought she was his mate but Aiden convinced him that she wasn't ready and he needed to wait. Now Jax is back to find out once and for all if Dori truly is the one meant for him. Once she spends some time with Jax, Dori realizes that there is something very special between the tow of them.
Dori learns her beloved grandmother's and Jax's secrets. Once they acknowledge that they belong to each other Jax teaches Dori what is involved in loving him and being his mate.
I enjoyed Desirae Grove's take on shifter life and love. I would recommend the book to those who enjoy romance, especially paranormal and hot.
This is only the second piece I have read by Desirae Grove, and while I enjoyed it, it had a different feel to it than the other story I read, Shared by Her Bears. I am not sure if I just read through it too fast, but it seemed rushed. It also seemed to lack the heat Shared by Her Bears did, but then ménages always seem hotter.
I loved Dori and Jax. Their love is the kind people search for. I mean, he waited for her until she came to him. He was so thoughtful and considerate in the simplest, as if it was as natural as breathing. I usually don’t like the “one true mate” trope, but they legitimately acted like an old married couple and it was precious.
What I appreciated most, however, was Grove’s portrayal of the Romani. Even though Dori isn’t technically Romani, she still practices the culture passed down from her grandmother. When I found out it was going to play a role in the story, I was legitimately worried. However, Grove’s interpretations was very tasteful.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. There a little if any grammar/writing errors. I just wish it had more eroticism and didn’t seem so rushed.
An interesting twist on the Dragon shifter stories. Jax and Dori were an interesting couple. Dori was raised with the old beliefs even though the story was set in modern times. With a Romanian heritage, she lives a simple life and enjoys the simple things. Jax has waited for Dori, giving her the time to accomplish her goals before he peruses her for his mate. I liked that Jax respected her enough to give her time to grow even thought it was hard on him. He was always the gentlemen and showed how much he cared for Dori. Dori was a unique character that seemed to be in the wrong time period. She had simple needs and wants and was very open minded to the things that were presented to her. I thought it had a good storyline, likeable characters and the "Dragon rules" were very unique. The time span of the book was over a long period of time but we only got to see a few instances of interactions between Jax and Dori. I would have like to have had more scenes of them getting to know each other instead of a brief reference to the events. I also would have liked to have heard more about their life on the island. Little things like that would have added depth to the story and made it not seemed so rushed. This was a quick fast afternoon read. I would rate it 3.5 stars.
